Long Island Winery: The Old Field

The North Fork of Long Island is known for it's vast array of wineries. There are more than  two dozen wineries to choose from (how can you pick just one!?). The hubz and I were there for our one year anniversary a few weeks ago and heard great things about The Old Field. So we decided to check it out! We did a tasting of the red wine and they were all very good. My favorite was the Commodore Perry but the hubz definitely liked the Cabernet Franc. It was all very good!

Great wine. Laid back atmosphere. And live animals. See for yourself! Here's our experience in pics:

Quite the welcoming! This really sets the tone for the winery.

Everyone there was friendly and knowledgeable and it was so picturesque. There were a lot of families here just enjoying the beautiful day. There are a few downsides to this winery: it's not pet friendly and although you can just barely see the water from the tasting area, you can't just walk down to it. I think you can purchase a private tour to do so though, but I'm not 100% positive. I would have loved to walk down to the water with a bottle of this wine to sit and relax...maybe even with my pup :)

Here is a complete list of North Fork wineries! Enjoy :)
